Reflected Passion Reviews
This was a very original story that had almost everything a good movie would have...time travel, romance, and some historical tidbits along with adventures on the high seas. The two main characters meet through the looking glass, only to discover they can step into each others worlds through the same mirror. The characters live in 2 separate time periods, modern and pre-French Revolution. To remain together, they must face the perils of each others societies.
I guess it was not a bad story. But I think that everything just go too fast... some may like it, but I prefer when relationships are slowly built... it is just my opinion. Beside that, it is a good book.
Could not get past the first few chapters.....concept that could have worked had it had more storyline to it. All this novel had was corny lesbian sex coupled with a few historical phrases. I hate giving a bad review - especially to budding authors - but oh my god.
As a lover of European history, I found the strife inflicted by the French revolution, a riveting part of this book. The ladies journey was very interesting. Not only was love nurtured but dreams realized. Building a future together included many wonderful people, slaves, prostitutes, babies. I rank this story as one of my favorites. I would recommend this book to my friends and family.
Of course a romance set across time is an awesome idea, but there were some gentle and lovely touches that rounded out the story and made you feel for the main characters. It's a little sad, but I guessed the twist at the end not far into the book. Even with that, it was a lovely read. Well worth it.
It is so rare to find a period piece in lesbian fiction. And this one is done brilliantly! The author put the ladies together right away, which I found refreshing. I get so tired of wadding through the pages waiting for the couple to get together. We have enough of those, movies, TV shows, and books alike. The adventure for these ladies doesn't end until the last page and neither does their passion for each other. Full of passion, romance, and adventure this book quickly jumped to the top of my list.
I was expecting more based on the other reviews.
I enjoyed the whole premise of this tale. The love story is a bit far-fetched at the beginning but it entangled nicely. I really liked the characters and would love to read about their adventures in the colonies!
