Manara Library Volume 1: Indian Summer and Other Stories Reviews
I've been reading and collecting comics for over 25 years, and throughout that time I had only ever seen glimpses of Manara's artwork, and of course, read about it in glowing terms. What little I did actually see of it was so impressive that I had made a commitment at some point to purchase his work when the opportunity presented itself, but I never actually sought it out. Luckily for me, I came across discussion of this volume in some forum when doing a bit of research on "Corto Maltese" and decided immediately I had to pick it up, and in good time too, as it's already sold out at the distributors (although I understand it may be primed for a second printing.)
Very excited to get my hands on a copy of this book. Didn't know what the quality of the book would be, so before getting any of the others I wanted to check out the first volume. I will be getting the next few volumes. Manara's artwork is gorgeous. Manara is one of those artists that is admired by other artists. As is Jean "Moebius" Giraud.
I was beyond impressed with this collection of stories! The artwork is superb and erotic, and the stories are intriguing and interesting to follow. Greatly looking forward to the new collections!
I love Milo Manara's work, and was thrilled to find this on here, and I am purchasing more to add to my collection. I would say not suitable for young ones, definitely an adult comic, but the fellow is an artist with beautiful, beautiful work!! Molte grazie!!!
Impeccably drawn - beautifully written - ("Indian Summer" is written by Hugo Pratt) - a classic and great to see it back in print!
I have been waiting for years for someone to publish these books into hardcovers and Dark Horse knocks it out of the park!
Manara and Pratt are unbelievable together! Great story and great art. Master work by master artists.
